You can power EV off own roof, try that with petrol, meanwhile petrol pumps don't work.

@nthgth As long as you refresh your gas cans often enough that the fuel is still useable. One needs no grid or service station to power their EV indefinitely, but you need both electricity and vast petrol infrastructure for an ICE car. Eventually these willfully ignorant children will figure out that $10 for electricity is better deal that $100 tank of gas, meanwhile they earned their poverty.

@teekay_1 You aren't seriously that ignorant? Yeah you can power your EV off solar, no grid required, but both your generator and ICE car require both electricity and vast petrol infrastructure you have no control over.

@nthgth Nothing last forever including contents of Jerry can. BEVs will be the poor man's only choice in just a few yrs, already nearing purchase price parity with ICE and vastly cheaper to operate. Few exceptions--say one only drives 3k miles/yr, that '94 Civic good to go. Choices are good, I still love my old BMWs, particularly 9k revving E92 M3 V8, but I can afford it, most can't. Unfortunately won't be but a decade before petrol becomes hard to find and even more expensive as it becomes increasingly obsolete. Fortunately BEVs will be vastly superior utilitarian rigs making everyone a little more prosperous.
