  2.  @humanityrising9378  It's easy for most of us to fall into the trap of "confirmation bias feed back loop"....religions rely on it and feed the habit, but some of us are accustomed to checking our premises and others only feed their preconceived notions, often to the point of complete disconnect from reality. (Flat Earthers, Chemtrailers, 9/11 Truthers, Anti-vaccers, for example) There are serious consequences in real life to self deceptions sometimes, even small ones. First you are so clueless as to believe a jet engine can work in space, now ask yourself--what else OBVIOUS have you missed here?

  6.  @humanityrising9378  I'm not say'n you are stupid for falling for such necessarily, even very smart folks do it sometimes, just learn to check your own beliefs instead of reinforcing them, it's a discipline that's essential in many walks of life...take investing in indvidual stocks for one--you better be able to cross check your thesis for owning an equity (or shorting) or your likely to lose your money. FIRST--don't get emotionally invested in any belief but instead learn to relish the potential for an epiphany which can only happen when one up-ends a strongly held belief which tends to be highly rewarding. Understand that the best learning happens by challenging yourself not by 'winning' an argument. It's not so bad to admit: "I might be wrong about that."

  15. I first became tad enamored with a 2-stroke engine when introduced on the job to Detroit 4-valve, 2 stroke industrial diesels. Back in the 1980's they were competitive and sounded great with that 'doubling of RPM' sound effect, popping twice as often....it was a scraper, still basic dirt collecting/transferring machine on many earth moving jobs but the 2 stroke is long gone.

  24. ed p Are you adjusting for inflation? And what about the fact that the first versions of most rockets blow up quite a lot? No question the Shuttle was an exception but they came very close to scattering it a couple times that most folks are unaware of, at least one time while in orbit they would have blown it up had they run the main engines a couple seconds longer, for example.

  30.  @sandervanderkammen9230  Thanks. Didn't know that. I'm a nerd for any clever machine designs that actually worked and maybe new to me. (have Mech. Engineering background, but that is about how to apply math and physics to predict efficiencies, stresses and strains, theoretical limits and so on, it's NOT about existing tech or history)

  31.  @sandervanderkammen9230  On the surface--a few potential drawbacks: a LOT of sliding contact area friction and very high "oscillating" mass compared to standard valve/push rod competitor. The sleeve will have to have tight tolerances but will still leak a little, surely adding to piston ring blow by to crankcase. Cylinder side breathing seems inherently inferior to top intake/exhaust (how do you flush the top of stroke?) except for the increased opening size significant advantage.

  34.  @iamkurgan1126  I'm all for sensible necessary self defense, unavoidable. But you'er joking about "higher standard of living" spending vast sums on these things. It's a scandal the way it's done in the USA, the system is set up to milk the taxpayer making us all far poorer and LESS SECURE as a trillion dollar budget deficit threatens the viability of the nation. You don't become prosperous by building expensive things to flush down the toilet.

  36.  @iamkurgan1126  Also--you may not understand it but some weapon systems inherently make us LESS SECURE, anti-ballistic missile missils are one of those. (as mentioned in the vid) They cause both sides to be far more hair trigger with their thermonuclear weapons, that's not a good thing This is why the USA sought and signed the treaty against such weapons way back when. Just ask I'll explain it to you.

Just let the investigation proceed and don't worry about it. Sure it's possible he's innocent of collusion, sure doesn't act like it tho. He for CERTAIN is guilty of obstruction of justice, again, he said it himself when he canned Comey, that's some jail time right there, just ask Martha Stewart.

  44. I think NASA should stop building rockets altogether, contract it out to private biz like Space X who can accomplish the same goals for a tiny fraction of the cost. (like both formats, great work!)
