  1. Part of the script is to neglect the most obvious maintenance, way before inevitable breakdown. Should never break or wear out such a belt but replace near half life instead and toss the used ones in a parts box attached to the machine for spares. A quick temp fix could be attempted with rope--plus tacky belt dressing if available. And/or hang a good size electric ventilation fan on front of radiator if gen has aux AC, alternator may not spin well but that's manageable for a day or so.
