Wealth has nothing to do with basic driving aptitude. She had other similar incidents (reportedly) and obviously had no biz behind the wheel, luckily she 'quit' before killing innocents.

Yeah she had NO BIZ behind the wheel and this apparently wasn't her first time doing similar. All of us have accidentally rolled wrong direction at some point, it should take inches of motion to hit the brake and shift, not 100 meters.

@hummerguy No excuse for this, it takes inches to realize and react to such an error.

You'd have to go thru a window, won't likely be able to open a door.

@boltsquad6445 Roll down the window is much better, by the time pressure is equalized there is little air left to breath. (obviously the window driver may have failed, seems unlikely to me tho)

@matthewbradley3475 Can't likely open the door once water is half way up it. But as u said this is not a new concern, dad used to carry a hatchet under the seat for this scenario decades ago. 1st thing to do is try to open a window.

Best safest cars on the road but nothing is idiot proof. (best at least in many aspects, personal choice, it's not the most cushy lux option obviously)

@josephfdent She had many chances just like anyone, this was not her first similar mistake she just wasn't responsible enough to self correct. Very rare that we don't get a few close calls first and she was (reportedly) known to do this to lessor degree a number of times. Main think is she didn't 'get another chance' to kill a family of 4 or whatever.
3
@OctavioGaitan That's good, I don't want to see more idiots in the safest cars ever made.
3
@purePAtrader Not exactly clear but known to put car in wrong direction.
2
@i3lackfusion Not that you can afford an old bicycle or know how to drive but launch any car into a lake and it's not going to be as pleasant as your mom's basement.

Ppl do extremely dumb things including burying the accelerator pedal for extended time while intending the brake and smashing into everything in sight. She seems to have done similar, from her record she had no biz driving.
1
@wayando Really? You think she could afford it?
1
@msunje9862 Yeah I'm sure she was a great driver. Why do lack empathy for the family of 4 that she was destined to kill on the road one day due to her self centered unwillingness to either learn how to drive or quit driving?
1
@angelwings7930 Exactly. Why would anyone mention wealth in this context.
1
@angelwings7930 Some poverty mentality implied in that, as tho money solved all problems, it never did. It solves SOME problems and creates a host of others most of us never had to consider. No irony involved.

@hottew_twat3963 It's more about taking driving as serious as it is. I'm sure she was plenty smart. Even a modestly dumb person CAN drive well. That does not mean a smart person automatically drives well, that requires driving discipline, realization that you could die at any moment, realizing that a close call is your last chance to change something. Some take a near miss as: "Wow I'm good I can get away with amazing stunts!" When must be taken as: "Damn that was lucky I better never get in that situation again."

@Gangsta1168 Nice most likely but not weak, don't confuse the two. IDK her history, a few get there without earning it, but in general, tough on personnel interactions, disciplined and smart.
