And that was the slogan that trashed the West. Prior to that simplistic toxic dogma, ranchers, loggers, and before that, Natives would burn it seasonally so we never got to the treacherous conditions we have today with fuel building for decades until catastrophe is inevitable.

Yeah we had the coolest spring in recent memory and fires consumed 10X more land a century ago, but they were less severe due to frequency and lack of suppression that causes massive fuel build up for decades until catastrophe is unavoidable. But EVERYTHING is climate change today with zero historical perspective or nuance.

@kalidilerious Fire is an essential element of American West, most of the nation and other's too. Many native trees can't exist without fire inc. our beloved Giant Sequoias. When Cali joined the Union--that it was smoky was feared an economic inhibitor, around 1880.
