  1. NO ONE KNOWS what 1/3 G will do to the human body. We only have two data points, 1G and zero G, in between is anyone's guess. Artificial gravity for the trip seems to me the obvious choice however.

  3. Kids. You have no concept how difficult it's going to be but I'm all for it. Be some fine reality TV as the first colony(ies) inevitably struggle and die off. That's how we learn and progress, early explorers always die young. Think of living off the land on Antarctica and multiply it by a 1000X more difficult.

  5. The new "Martians" will appreciate Earth for sure, it's going to be a desolate, dismal and likely desperate existence on Mars. We ARE vulnerable, cheers to those taking it to another world and I hope a few of you survive more than a year.
