I have been to the Reno Air Races many times over thirty years, this yr (2013) it was the worst ever (I missed 2012)...too damned safe, too far away...we want to be close, almost under the race planes!  If a spectator is so foolish to think that NO harm was ever possible they are stupid nuf to deserve the Darwin award.  It's like sitting next to the track at a NASCAR race--there is the remote possibility that spectators may be involved in an accident OBVIOUSLY.  So if you can't handle that reality--STAY HOME and rot on the couch!!!  Don't take my options away from me. I don't know how many have been killed driving their car to Reno Air Races in some 50 yr.s of 50k spectators/yr, but I bet it's more then this one tradgety, but HEY...we don't give a damn about that cuz car fatalities are an excepted norm every hour of everyday.
