@andrew_owens7680 It is a scam when they know there are already 30 graduates for every job opening and pretend otherwise. When did computer science or engineering ever lack demand? Not in at least 30 or 40 yrs. Or nurses for that matter. Maybe we need a system where the university doesn't get paid until after the loans are paid off by the student or as the loans are paid, then they can suffer along with the victim, I mean student, so they'll be a lot more careful about their reckless promotion of endless debt.

College has become a half time scam. (and I wouldn't trade anything for my college experience and engineering degree)

@dcoper72 Not necessarily, many degrees have minimal economic potential and that $200k is debilitating. If the electrician is good with money and investing he may have $1M net worth by the time his big brother get's back to even. Colleges are scamming many naïve students, selling them degrees in fields already saturated, over supplied and therefore commanding low pay, while trivializing crippling debt.
