M Infante Tweets are and should be considered valid. It caused confusion among investors, it wasn't based on reality, he shouldn't have done it. No CEO can get away with that sort of dissemination of material false information, nor should they. Then the SEC offered him a slap on the wrist and he's fighting them??? I love the guy but he's out of his mind.

Travis Norseman WTH?? He has new announcements like that frequently. NO CEO could get away with what he did nor should they. I'm an Musk fan but I don't know what the hell he thinks he's doing here, including failing to accept the "no admission of guilt" slap on the wrist that the SEC offered him.

Chris Becker A 3 yr. suspension as Chairman and banned from any board of directors, plus $20M fine personally plus $20M from Tesla, without admission of guilt (he clearly is guilty of several serious violations) is reasonable. This will likely rally the stock too as it's obvious he's not the best CEO anyway, he's crucial as the "visionary designer" but not as CEO, even the biggest bulls on the stock tend to think that, and Elon himself has long been open to finding a qualified CEO and they reportedly had been 'shopping' for one in recent years. The board will also be less Rubber Stamp-ish going forward, that's good for Tesla.

I don't think so. It looks like a solid case against him based on his own testimony to the SEC. Love the guy but he's out of his mind not only for the reckless tweets but for failing to accept the slap on the wrist the SEC offered him.

KNO Home run? Elon's chances are slim to none, I think he's out of his mind. Love the guy but he fucked up big time with the tweets and hubris to fight the SEC with such a solid case against him.

KNO Skim through the complaint, Elon's own words demonstrate intent to thwart the shorts along with some childish extras.
1
KNO It might also be noted that "intent" to effect the share price say, is not necessary to be in violation of very clear and crucial SEC rules. You can't tell substantial, material lies relevant to a public company as CEO and expect there to be no consequences, that's insane.
1
Bill Randleman Nothing wrong with short sellers either, they are also integral to efficient markets and just as "real" as the longs.

Rata 4U Breaking my own rule to avoid exchanges with kids who say nonsense like "paid troll" for anyone who believes something different then they do....TSLA could be a good buy, IDK and neither do you. Only time will tell, there are strong cases both for and against it. But I'd bet on it popping Monday on this news.

derty QWERTY Actually tweets are considered a legit vehicle for dispensing crucial info., beyond that the complaint by the SEC used Elon's own words from interviewing him for their case against him and it seems beyond solid. He fucked up multiple times and should have taken the slap on the wrist that they offered him, now it's going to be a drawn out affair with likely far more sever consequences. I wish him all the best but it's hard to understand what the hell he's thinking.

Osunga Okello Thank you! I don't get that often. :D

Elon Mušk Win? Not against a rock solid case against him by the SEC mostly based on his OWN TESTIMONY. I wish him all the best but he's out of his mind, not just for the reckless false material information for investors but for failing to accept the slap on the wrist that the SEC offered him.

southchum101 Yeah probably NOT. Tesla is currently producing vastly more cars than they ever have in the past and putting substantially more on the road in America then---say BMW 3 series or other comparable level vehicles and totally dominating the EV space currently in the USA. No doubt competition will become fierce but it isn't so far and most of the comparable options (Audi, Porsche, BMW, etc) are a couple yr.s or more from production and don't look all that impressive in comparison. Tesla has some serious structural design and production flaws but they are in a league of their own with regards to batt. tech. and electronics....they also don't have the high legacy costs (worker pensions and such) that all the rest have. T has a good shot at long term viability.

Ufo Trailers Elon is out of his mind on this. Never mind his brilliance and successes he shouldn't have tweeted material false information crucial to the price of the stock and he is crazy not to have accepted the SEC slap on the wrist they offered him. Their case against him is mostly based on his own testimony to them and it's solid.
