@jccusell I see, makes sense. As much as I may love to visit, vacation in Europe, the total lack of what I consider "wilderness" would make me feel--IDK--claustrophobic for want of better word, long term. Wilderness and mountains availability, even if not often accessed, is crucial to me. Similar with big cities anywhere. Natural landscape is my primary anchor to N. Cali. Wilderness means no sign of humanity, almost no people beyond my own small party and no sign of them other than crude trails diminishing to nothing and a rare slight signs of a camp site maybe. But that's a tangent.

Beyond time to appose Authoritarianism folks, that means lean Libertarian, it's opposite, no matter your indoctrination if you are. Libertarian simply means Liberty and Justice for ALL , freedom of movement and travel, economic liberty, owning your own body (no forced injections), expressing yourself, YES you should be allowed to be OBNOXIOUS :D

I didn't know that but staples production globally has increased over 50% just this century, I'd guess Holland has at least kept pace.

Lockdowns cause severe anxiety.

Don't tell anyone but I've got a boat load (well....a mini pickup load) of long term food and water stored. Turdeau and much of the rest of Western governments, inc. Biden obviously, are disconnected from reality , they will be replaced.

@jccusell Interesting. Seems ridiculous to homogenize standards anyway , granted it's a matter of degree. One of the most important features of USA is states rights, it allows for contrasting policies and results and for easy migration to politics more to one's liking. (tho that happens to be working against my narrow interests as one entrenched in Commifornia while freedom lovers exit leaving us with increasing concentration of Authoritarian minded drones)

@jccusell I hear ya...but I'm addicted to the excellent climate here, only downside is rain deficit. (some would add the couple months of triple digit temps but I accept it) I grow everything from apples to avocadoes, pick peaches sporadically June to September, tomatoes to November, all types of citrus covering the entire yr, berries, grapes....on and on. That's become a big part of my life and partial self sufficiency. New home build will include solar/batters, rain harvest, root cellar...Starlink internet maybe....pretty much off grid except for half to most of my water needs. .
