  1. I've been a big believer in D since reading a Sci American Mag article back in the '90's. A memorable chart showed bands of solar intensity across the USA and associated rates of cancers, autoimmune diseases, etc., there was a dramatic (15 to 45% say) increase of all of them going from Florida to Montana. Pigmented skin is generally better yet it must be diminished as one moves away from the equator and visa versa. (obviously dark skin is far safer in high intensity sun where D is not likely to be deficient) Redheads are sort of mutants, highly detrimental here in California, yet they may be better off in sun deprived Ireland.
