@themidnighttavern6784 Have you ever owned a car?? Was the paint perfect? Those of us tuned in for 15 yrs have seen same media BS every step of the way w Tesla, yet they sold more of ONE model than any car of any kind on Earth last yr. (BTW--it was widely expected to fail)

@themidnighttavern6784 Any SS is immune from rust, not from stains from environmental contaminants tho. StainLESS is exactly what it sounds like. Your 50 yr old kitchen sink is as good as new minus some dings and scratches.

@themidnighttavern6784 CT also doesn't have flecks of rust on it, sure one or two dudes didn't bother washing it. BFD. I wax my cars, that prevents 95%. I get how you are emotionally attatched to last century technology. My all time fave road machine is 2011 BMW E-92 M3, V8 revving to 9k rpm. (yours would be scattered across the local landscape, hahaha) That BMW is a replacement for crotch rockets of my youth, NOT to be recommended any more than a street bike. That doesn't blind me to the fact that BEVs are vastly inherently better. So I end the ICE age w best rig I can... with screaming naturally aspirated V8 singing to me. :D)

@DragonKnightX12 LOL. But you've never driven one, don't know anyone who has one, didn't realize that Norway is at 90% BEV for new cars and not suffering for it. Don't have any idea what the specs are... But you damn sure have strong opinions about what you know nothing! hahaha

@PineApple-bs8rt Entire discussion is ridiculous, immune is close enough. To compare common carbon steel vehicle bodies (*implicitly*) with high quality SS is just dumb, all the coatings and paint fail over time and they rust out, totaling the car. Only thing in same ballpark with SS is F-150 aluminum alloy body elements, or similar. (and that's before Tesla 5 to 8X the thickness) "Surface rust" isn't the pot material, it's a STAIN from something else, say a cast iron pan or carbon steel knife, OR it's garbage SS. It scrubs off. I have 70 yr old Reverewear pots and pans, the copper bottom slowly erodes but the SS is like new plus scratches. Probably a billion X more punishment on frying pan than a fender, lol. Look at a rubbish 40 yr old Delorean, probably rotten underneath but SS body lk new.

@themidnighttavern6784 It's profiting on a dead end market segment and losing spectacular amounts (on the order of $30k per EV) on the future segment. Overall sales are down and falling. Look a little further down the road and it's in deep sh_t. You won't believe it now but give it a couple more yrs.

@TroySavary There is zero evidence of rust on the CT, typical hilarious BS to feed to you folks who only know how to pamper your confirmation biases. It's same stains any vehicle can get from brake dust, etc.

@PineApple-bs8rt Nothing happens to it, I've seen it out for decades, looks the same as it ever did. Why don't you try it, seems you haven't. Restaurant kitchens, sinks, counter tops, all sorts of stuff are subject to acids, harsh cleaners, SALT, doesn't faze it. Have you never used a 50 yr old SS pan or pot??

@PineApple-bs8rt I used to commonly clean the tarnish off copper bottom cooking pans and pots by soaking overnight in acid and salt, removes copper oxides well, does nothing to the SS.
