Way behind the curve or he'd have invested in Tesla long ago. I suspect he's just too old and stuffy and repulsed by a real revolutionary/visionary CEO, he missed Amazon and Apple in their best days too I believe.

BYD didn't supersede Tesla in BEVs, most of their sales are ICE hybrids, still ICE and that matters as it's a dead end.

The CCP never bought into the climate alarmist religion, they always play along whilst continuing to build coal plants and laugh at the world's climate hysteria circus.

@unconventionalideas5683 Tesla Model 3 get's 125MPGe, that's better than petrol even on a coal fired grid and coal is temporary for most of the planet...but that's assuming coal is done responsibly which almost nothing in China is. The CCP has played along with the virtue signaling CO2/climate farce religion from the West while continuing to build coal plants all the way, that much is smart. And getting exhaust pipes out of their toxic cities via EVs also a good idea.

Batt tech is, China is not. They are at least smart enough to play along with the climate alarmist religion while continuing to build coal plants all the way. Absolutely self destructive and idiotic for the zero covid farce unless it's just a tool to weed out those with a scrap of self respect and resistance to tyranny.

@CasperChicago Elon is by FAR the best CEO in history, hyperbolic but also objectively accurate. There wouldn't be a Tesla if not for Elon and if he leaves Tesla, the stock will be cut in half or worse overnight, and while Tesla will continue to thrive it will be far less dynamic and successful over time. Elon is synonymous with Tesla, certainly for institutional investors, and smart retailers are investing in Elon first, Tesla 2nd. That TSLA has lost 40% from peak makes it a BETTER investment.

@CasperChicago I have been advocating TSLA for half a decade and expecting to hold most of my modest fortune in it for another 10 yrs. If Elon fails to get paid, pathetic, disgusting that it's even a question, IDK what to say. If he leaves so too will many if not most institutional and retailers, sadly, including me. I used to say "it's irresponsible not to own at least a little TSLA", but now with the shameful question of his deal being broken--IDK.

They make a lot of things, most of their cars are still ICE, hybrids but that's ICE.
