Ppl are stupid. It's like running barefoot only with a very thick skin. I love'em but precise foot placement obvious necessity and I have to focus on making heal contact or I'll torch my calves in a mile. Dramatically improves my running cadence, versatility and general enjoyment, as long is the surface isn't small rocks.

@UmatsuObossa It happens automatically in my experience, unless maybe one is running on soft, non-compacted sand. My problem with the shoes or barefoot is my natural inclination to avoid any heel contact at all which thrashes my calves in mere miles, I must consciously focus on at least minimal heel contact.

@UmatsuObossa Of course. As I said, I have to very deliberately contact heel at all. 'Heel strikes' (meaning first to contact) are out of the question obviously.
