Nope. You just did that to yourself.

Nope, already most cost effective new electric generation, it just takes many yrs to implement.

That difference is made up for in around 30k miles with EV like Model 3/Y getting 120MPGe. And as batteries are recycled the diff will largely go away PLUS EVs (some at least) will be 1M mile cars instead of 200k/250k mile cars.

@jasper4365 You can get an approximate idea just by comparing purchase price of ICE vs EV cars with otherwise similar specifications. Everything including oil consumption is priced into a new car, EVs are more but not that much more. Tesla's budget is a separate thing, prices of everything go up with oil to some extent. But obviously there is more EV demand with higher gasoline price, that can mean T. will further increase sales cost as they already have persistent excess demand, wait of about 10 months for new buyers.

NatGas much more in the US. But an ICE get's an ave of what?...35MPG? Teslas get around 120MPGe. That's a huge difference and along with other factors makes them some 5X less expensive to operate. Many with homes are or will soon charge off their own roofs.

Cheaper petrol will tend to slightly reduce Tesla profits but they can't make 'em fast enough even with unheard of production growth rate. In a few yrs used EVs will be the poor man's only choice with 5X lower operating cost.

@nicp7826 How is that wrong?

@Sal3600 Anyone expressing an independent thought is loathed by the Leftists today, you either Goose Step to their version of Nazism or else.

Pure fantasy.

That's a silly assertion, the petroleum cost of plastics and tires is trivial compared to vehicle operating cost associated with petrol.
1
@appleforever6664 WTH? Petroleum isn't going away and the vast majority is burned as fuel...the price of petrol is a tiny part of the cost of a tire or plastic part. Doubling the price of oil might increase the price of a plastic part by what, 5%?
