@LloyettaJEwing A little perspective required here. By far the worst fires in US history were around a century ago and many tree species cannot exist, can't even reproduce without fire including redwoods, it's an unavoidable essential part of the natural cycle and landscape, however--we have not allowed them to burn frequently enough as they historically did (natives burned annually) so the fuel builds to catastrophic levels.

Steph Foundos But we keep getting further from Rapture as wars, crime and starvation are at all time lows while prosperity is at all time highs. Serious crime in America is half what it was 20 plus yr.s ago. If the 2nd coming was actually coming it would have been as predicted in the Christian Created Hell of 2000 yr.s ago. Earthquakes are simply geology, it's an essential part of Earth dynamics billions of yr.s old.

@sheilacrilly1830 Thanks for that I sort of suspected but didn't know for sure!

@LloyettaJEwing Yup! Some 80% of the population is isolated from this as urban dwellers, it needs to be understood. It was talked about early last century how California economy would be impacted by the smoke back THEN. If you love redwoods (Giant Sequoias) and I do...one must embrace fire but it need not be like this.

@LloyettaJEwing I don't care if it's intelligent or not it's some crucial truth that many clearly don't understand.

Steph Foundos I guess we were much closer to Armageddon a century ago based on USA fires. It was 5X worse back then.

@LloyettaJEwing SHssssh. It's all good, I didn't insult nor be offended, just clarifying. . ;-)

@LloyettaJEwing I am a bit passionate about this with half a century experience in the fire zone including infamous Paradise, California, tragic wipeout fire next door (2018) that burned to the edge of my town. We had talked about it being a "tinderbox" for decades.

Steph Foundos Keep it brief please. This isn't church, no one is going to read nor listen to all that rubbish.
