Yeah it's been REALLY PROFITABLE for Boeing to have it's planes crash, that's always a great way to make money!

SomeoneElse You should try wearing sharp edged boxy shoes then. Form follows function.

That limp huh? ;-)

Mostly it's due to wild lands mismanagement. These lands were "meant" to be burned almost seasonally to keep the forests open and healthy. Native Americans would see to it if nature didn't first.

Deff a cold war and escalating, not entirely new however.

Yeah they love to have their planes crash that's always profitable.

How about the fact that we pay by PROCEDURES instead of RESULTS? We incentivize excess testing and expensive MRIs, etc. Plus tort law also promotes the same excesses.

Normally I'd tend to agree, but it hasn't worked in this case. Reforming tort law would help, currently health care provider will cover their asses legally via excess, unnecessary testing. Paying for outcome instead of rewarding the highest possible investment in a given case is certainly a big part of the problem. It's like our military hardware procurement system, that's set up to reward massive cost over runs and that's what we get naturally...that's where our weapons contractors get almost all their profits, of course they are going to drive the prices as high as possible! Doctors are spending HALF their time doing paper work that they can't delegate! That's INSANELY wasteful and makes many Docs regret going into the field. As usual it's complicated and I certainly don't claim to have all the answers but the above are some good starting points. I don't think this video addresses the bulk of the problem. Solving it would be far better than a massive tax cut to the wealth (and health) of Americans. Our system is so inferior to those of most of the rest of the rich world that I might support simply adopting one of the best examples available at this point.

Can't wait. Be great reality TV to watch first Mars "explorers" struggle valiantly only to succumb and perish. It's NOT HALF the size of Earth, it's about 1/6.

The problem is almost 100% that fire is NOT FREQUENT ENOUGH HOW they start is completely trivial, if it's not one thing it will be another. It's ALL about mismanagement, allowing the fuel load to build to catastrophic levels. Native Americans would light wildlands SEASONALLY.
