NO we have 10X more economically available today then say 15 yrs ago due to horizontal drilling and fracking technologies.

It will never run out bc it's going to be obsolete in 20 yrs and shale oil extraction tech has made 10X more available then there was at the beginning of this century.

If this vid didn't cover shale oil it's useless (I only spot checked it). Horizontal drilling and fracking have made 10X more economic oil available, running out will never happen, most of it will be left in the ground as it is becoming obsolete.

At least, but it's already obsolete due to cheap NatGas, and shale oil extraction technologies have 10Xed the economic oil in last decade and a half.

Coal is obsolete in America due to cheap NatGas and we have 10X more oil available today then a decade and half ago due to shale extraction technologies. ALL of those will be obsolete soon enough while most is left in the ground.

@zachcarter3186 Probably centuries worth depending on your consumption assumptions and IF all the worlds vast shales were tapped which they won't be. Famous quote from Shell Oil CEO circa 1990's: "The stone age didn't end bc we ran out of rocks and the oil age won't end bc we run out of petroleum." He couldn't have known then how right he was. Petrol will be largely obsolete within 20 yrs.

@Will he heck as like Shale extraction tech has 10Xed the economic reserves globally, meanwhile it's on the rapid path to obsolescence.
