Imagine the self loathing she must possess just for being HER.

Most are clueless and don't care about reality, it's ALL about getting our attention, nothing else matters to most reporters.

From N Commifornia, not knowing history or details--it's a very old, built far lighter to lower standards than today, better not push their luck on catastrophic potential. Bad management is the default expectation from gov. Hopefully we learned something from Orville Dam spillway fail near me, nothing like a total dam failure, but a proper reminder. We've had history of few dam catastrophes.

COOL BEANS! We need the precip in Cali, I'm near I-80 between Sacramento and Reno and thrilled to have the SNOW!!!

I'd argue he gets to keep the engine. :D

Dam has exceeded it's lifespan by 2X, it's failing. Do you want to see it full and catastrophically fail?

@LucinaFireEmblem1997 These big cats all but never mess w ppl, they must be starving, sick or cornered to be dangerous.

How does in NOT happen more often. IDK the particulars here but the way I see crowds encroaching on these races guarantees something like this. Could be that this was just a driver F-up.
3
@Teeveepicksures Exactly. OP acts like nothing would ever go wrong when it's obviously inevitable.
3
@jonathancole6124 Yes very impressive, took them many decades to centuries to build much of it, longer than the brief history of the USA. Romans invented some high quality concrete but it's stone that really lasts.
3
LET folks back to their homes for Christs Sakes. Obviously the threat was over in seconds.
3
They are incredibly elusive. Obviously less common than coyotes but also almost spiritually stealthy. Only one I even saw was near Cali-Nevada border at night in the headlights. It was raised area of road with only 2 or 3ft high scattered desert bushes U can see right thru, NO place to hide. Yet I stopped my service truck and spotlighted across the endless barren landscape from 40ft high but big cat had simply vanished in seconds.
3
Proof of global warming apocalypse, they are obviously desperately escaping the boiling ocean! 😉
3
You think this is NEW? Idiots have been mean throughout history. Some solace in realizing she hates herself and for good reason.
3
@BoltRM Doing something about it means removing it and ether replacing it or letting it run wild again. Either way you lose the storage capacity and flood control for at least a number of yrs. (most likely, some chance of building new dam down stream while existing dam stands crippled as it is) Anyway, it's a smaller reservoir that most in the state have never heard of.
3
Why would police bother when there are no consequences from "prosecutors".
2
Probably built with something like 50 yr life and to lower standards than today. You can't maintain some things and this is clearly a very lightly built structure. If the concrete is crumbling near the base as indicated, not much u can do other than replace it.
2
@jonathancole6124 Some kinds of rock can last far longer than just about any manmade structural material, granite for example. Sandstone, limestone and marble much easier to shape but not near as durable. Egyptian great pyramids are mostly made of relatively weak and erodible limestone with exception of key internal structural elements and they were externally cased in granite and alabaster I believe, most of that was pilfered, quarried to build Cairo over the centuries. (many think pyramids may be vastly older than official estimates, possibly even 10's of thousands of yrs, but that's a wild tangent) Point being--if we could build dams out of granite they could last many thousands of yrs, far exceeding any concrete. Even blocks of granite w concrete/grout might last millennia, as rock partially protects the grout from elements. (Grout joints could be problematic for a high pressure dam tho) That's sort of the Roman success story it seems, tho not with rock as good as granite.

@Jack_Russell_Brown WHERE would YOU put excess water? In heaven, in your dream world?? Where?
2
@Jack_Russell_Brown OKAY... U can't answer simple pertinent question honestly, must divert topic. I don't bother with BS. Bye byyyye!
2
Based on THIS there's no way to draw such a conclusion. Why not blame the parents or our garbage school system that promotes entitled punks like this?
2
@LucinaFireEmblem1997 There have been on the order of a dozen big cat attacks on humans in 150 yrs in West US. Mosquitoes are the real hazard but they aren't sexy.
1
A road worthy bike and rider could have easily avoided that but Harley's are crap.
1
@BoltRM Ppl should balk at taxes, Commifornia already runs folks out due to excessive taxation, it's the pols go to solution for everything.
1
@johnportilla4978 Cool, and it shows. Wouldn't be built like that today.
1
@TheAircool1 Could. So what, this one and many others simply were NOT, hypotheticals don't hold water. Hover Dam may well last 1000 yrs, this ain't Hover Dam.
1
@stupidfirebeats More than true, they don't enforce ANY theft of that nature, it's effectively legal and just as sane and justified as reparations.

Vegas luxury escort and croaked from speedball OD.

@KralTube2 Or up stream or anywhere I guess. The entire central valley becomes a great lake about ever century and a half, last time was right around statehood and permanently altered Sacramento. Next time it'll be because of cow farts and SUVs as we erase history to fit narratives.
1
@hewhohasnoidentity4377 Are you watching over them? Government is the ultimate monopoly--least responsive to "customers".
1
Without specific knowledge but a sense of these things--that dam looks damn dangerous...at least a tad sketchy. 🙄 We don't build them lk that anymore, very light weight construction, cheers it lasted THIS LONG
1
@noelbaudy5371 Not literally or absolutely. No 2 yr old 'earned their leukemia', but also true "you tend to reap what you sow", and it SEEMS to be almost supernatural at times.
