  1. That myth is a BIG part of the problem, it's primarily the lack of frequent fire that allows these conditions to develop. Past time to murder Smokey the Bear and manage the land far more properly including prescribed burns.

  2. It's more about liability from prescribed burning that's the problem. We need far more frequent lower intensity burning. Logging big trees is also to blame.
