Great song but "Born in the USA" was not patriotic, quite the contrary. (not even criticizing him for that, just say'n)

@incurableromantic4006 Hadn't thought of that. Tangent--dodging that draft was the most ethical thing to do and often extremely difficult choice, maybe not in his case, IDK his particulars. Highly aware youth knew there was nothing but slaughter going on in Vietnam, to burn your draft card was assumed giving up citizenship, family, friends....

@incurableromantic4006 Fair enough. Vietnam was completely unjustified and immoral in terms of USA involvement. Iraq was obvious farce well before invasion, Ukraine questionable. But only in Vietnam did we pointlessly slaughter 3M innocent civilians. Our vets also got severely messed up, besides the 55k dead. Then as now--the public was badly misled by popular propaganda.
