Conditions we've caused on the landscape the real issue, not whatever random ignition source. Lightening not new. Catch and release of repeat felons seems suboptimal tho.

West side, over half so far burned, was 100% beneficial to local ecology, grass and scattered oaks. Forest Service was debating how to burn it for yrs...easier to "debate", let inevitable happen, lol, than face responsibility, liabilities. Not to downplay those burned out in East half, but a ton was saved. (fear and feel for my fiends and neighbors, most OK so far)

@kevinwake8789 MY point was U can't stop every source of ignition. T-storms happen, have forever. Flammable landscape is the problem. Wasn't always like this even in warmer times some 2k yrs ago. We F---ed things up, most but not all of which we can fix (can't replace 300 yr old tree), but not easily. Justice system reference a glib tangent.
