  1. The competition is coming on strong from all over the globe including GM. Elon has already achieved his primary goal of showing the world that an electric can be a highly desirable car and "'accelerating the transition to E-cars by a decade'". I would LOVE to see Tesla become a viable company and continue it's disruption of the Detroit biz model (not to mention power generation, storage, etc) but that has yet to be proven, so far Tesla is only a boutique car manufacturer that has never met it's ambitious delivery schedules. We'll see about the Model 3. There is a lot of hype around Tesla and cult worshiping that makes me nervous. This latest 'profit' is considered by many to be more "engineered" then significant. As much as I admire Musk (one of my favorite people of all time) and ALL he has achieved I wouldn't touch TSLA stock except as a trade, but I wouldn't bet against him either. The absorption of Solar City looks like a way to save that failing company from insolvency more than anything else. But it sounds like YOU should be purchasing the stock with both hands. ;-)
