  3. Likely time to invoke the "sunk cost fallacy" that governments are incapable of. Imagine how much power we'd be creating w that investment in indirect fusion. Still I favor advancing the tech for eventual space travel, etc.

  4.  @rasmichael  OK. But that's the constant focus, no pun intended...and it's not anywhere near good enough, as worthy an intermediate goal as it is. There has to be a path toward economically competitive results. I don't see it happening even with 10X net energy gain.

  5. One of his books has entertaining story around that--as a student he first convinced his professor that it must spin in one direction then later equally convinced him that it would spin in the opposite direction.
