Things like waiting in lines for hrs is insane, there's zero productivity possible for those hrs. You can't consume more than you produce. As a shopkeeper I'd think there'd be a better way, have everyone schedule a specific time slot say.

As a farmer--"Compost your enemies." Wouldn't bother me if the criminal population was reduced "organically".

Roy K Ald Those are trivial points. (pun?) There is more to the doc then the silly animations, why fixate on 2 minutes of it?

@willisswenson3843 I'd actually recommend "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand....to anyone, but seems bit silly to think anyone would take that advice here. Have you read it? No one want's to read my diatribe 'book' on any topic in these threads.

It's the cheap thoughtless version, disruption, innovation and productivity are vastly more effective.

Punish productivity long and hard enough and this is the result.

Earth and Mars have been "sneezing" on eachother for ever, life has already been transferred back and forth. (assuming life exist on Mars)

@misteriosdelmundo255 That half century of failed policy has been driven entirely by Cuban Americans, tiny minority who vote on the one thing no one else thinks about. (since the '60's) But why does it matter so much? Why can't Cuban's be reasonably prosperous on their own? Only because Communism punishes productivity and rewards sloth with predictable results.

@willisswenson3843 Free speech and and free enterprise are what you should be focused on first and foremost, those are what's missing here (Cuba) and right to freedom of thought, expression and to profit from your own efforts are the first to go. As we have seen in much of the West in recent yrs, rampant censorship in the USA, even outlawing blasphemy in some Euro nations--that's the path to tolerating the Taliban.
3
@willisswenson3843 Honestly don't know how you'd exist there without it, I'd guess most of the meat and higher value food stuff isn't legally produced and peddled. Typically blk markets are sort of tolerated in Authoritarian regimes.

DT will get a different perspective from his jail cell. :D

When they lie in opening statement?? The gauge that read 101F was not in sea water but a shallow lagoon, may as well put a soup bowl with sea water on the beach in mid day summer sun and call that "sea temperature". Worse then useless--unsubbed.

David Collins Any written records above ground would have been destroyed by Christian a long time ago.

Plenty of economic available Li in Nevada alone to convert the entire USA to batteries, cars, trucks, homes, grid backup. The limiting factors will be other metals like Ni but it's not essential for all types of batt.
2
@willisswenson3843 A lot can be said and you said some more of it, no one wants to read ALL I have to say about it. :D
2
@willisswenson3843 If you like reading at all you should read it, just for it's captivating qualities and brilliance. My favorite part is John Galt's speech on "The Root of Money", no matter your conviction or how articulate you are, guarantee you'll be further armed against the tyranny of socialism. It's core bit of American culture, be it from a derogatory or celebratory view point. Great read even without the underling message. (I'd contest her on the Gold Standard but that's relatively minor, plus few other trivialities/technicalities) It will give you more powder. ;-)
2
@willisswenson3843 :D You may find yourself riveted to it as many others have, a fantastic story by itself. Took her 11 yrs of diligent hard work. Hit me up after you get into it a ways.
2
@willisswenson3843 OH...and you'll begin to see it referenced in popular culture, The Simpson's to Bill Maher to public bathroom stalls: "Who is John Galt?" One of my most respected old friend's college age daughter was reading it last time I talked to him, he was very pleased with that, I'm assuming as an antidote to you know what. Keep in mind it was written in the 1950's, much was from her history from Russian becoming the USSR and plenty prophetic since, including, oddly--shale oil development as a smaller story element. I've watched the movie which is OK but no way to remotely duplicate the book without a long mini-series.
2
@willisswenson3843 Enterprising individuals should spend all their time and energy on the black market, IDK Cuba but that's the only way to achieve any "social justice", ie., Meritocracy, in such circumstances. Gotta think there's a big parallel economy that sustains them.

@langlangdunia Better to cannibalize your own product lineup than avoid change and let the other guys take your business.

Sometimes when we in the West get indignant about working conditions elsewhere it makes things worse. Those folks aren't taking that job because they have better options. Yr.s ago when a Nike plant was closed in Asia due to our collective concern/outrage it left the locals in even worse situation, few bothered to follow up on the results of their knee jerk reactions.

ONE man can lift a 150 ton slab of rock it just takes some time. (ask me how) Same goes for standing it on end or even moving it across the landscape.

But you still want to be rich right?
1
Incredibly simple and presumptuous to assume rich are somehow fundamentally different or greedy. David Roberts--you have a little bit of poverty mentality.
1
A tangent: That hand scanner would be far more pleasant less jarring and tiring if equipped with a basic suspension, perhaps robbed from a cheap bicycle.
1
@barbarasmith6005 Examples? Be specific please. Why does originality matter here? Was Orwell "original" in his recipe for tyranny that is currently used as an instruction manual for Establishment America? Nope. He learned that from history.
1
@Research0digo Good question, assume folks aren't lining up for nothing, on the other hand they aren't producing much either so...can't consume what you don't produce or steal from someone who does and victims won't produce either when they are penalized for doing so as Communism mandates.
1
@briangerrits1454 "Universal poverty." is the unstated but obvious result of punishing productivity and rewarding sloth--an essential defining characteristic of Marxism. We see it again today in the USA in the form of 'anti-Meritocracy'.
1
Any American can invest in themselves and thrive. If you are so replaceable as to not write your own ticket, that's on YOU. Minimum wage jobs are entry level, for kids and those just entering workforce with nothing to offer other than showing up and making an honest effort. No society can consume more than they produce and government fake jobs, as most gov jobs are everywhere, only makes everyone less well off.

Mine baby MINE. ;-)

God's are childish fairy tails, Good Greif GROW UP.

Learn how to prevent pending glacial maximum that will yet again scrub half the N. Hemisphere bare?
1
@SvalbardSleeperDistrict There is no climate crisis, this vid is full of BS and CO2 is a bit player in climate, not remotely the driver. Have you ever indulged in any actual data or climate science? Won't find it here. The very opening claimed 37 C ocean temps off Florida, never happened, there was a sensor in a shallow lagoon that briefly reached 101 F, not remotely a ocean measurement.
1
@I3VI5 My though too until: 27:30 that's misleading, getting 100mpg equivalent vs. ICE doesn't count?
1
They have been. Imagine if we didn't rely so much on governments that flush resources down the toilet.
1
So they have some issues inc. colliding roboarms, who would have expected any problems? Shopping the globe for parts is smart and normal. Unions are toxic, I too have limited tolerance for whiners.....this is America GO CREATE your own job if you don't like it, that's what I did....or make yourself difficult to replace and rise within the company, I've done that too, so don't tell me how hard it is, lol. "'Confident the Germans will be quite far ahead in 5 yr.s'"....OKAY...how about a plan to catch up first?
1
Your backyard my lights. :D

8% plus GDP growth, expect to be 10% next yr, matters more than anything else.
1
Long hours are tough anywhere, what's that got to do with Tesla? I've dealt with back problems for 40 yr.s just like anyone else who uses their bodies, nothing to whine about just learn how to manage it or get a desk job.
