@SylvesterJcat Yeah I hear charging sucks in NY, worst in the entire country. Easy fix tho, install chargers in parking places. Owning a car regardless sucks in NY, right?

@tonespeaks Yeah parking any ICE in that weather is much worse than a BEV. I used to take half an hour of wasted time and lost range thawing out my gas work truck on cold mornings.

@abansalify I used to idle my V8 1-ton service truck for 20/30 minutes to thaw it out at -20F in the morning. Yeah it lost range and battery power, foolishly blew "freeze plugs" once without enough antifreeze, lucky didn't break the engine block....all sorts of issues, diesels need special fuel additives, ice can block fuel lines....on and on.

@fenrirslip Most traditionally charged at home, cheap and easy, but now that the peasants can afford them we need cheap chargers at apartment complexes, parking areas, airports, etc...not that hard. Let economics do it's thing, 5X cheaper to operate will win the day.

@abansalify New knowledge is needed for BEV operation but it's tiny compared to what we should know to run an ICE properly.

@DocMicrowave Interesting, didn't think about some of the costs you incur there. Be hyper cautious on bikes, as 'a used to be avid bikey' myself, once pedaled from Cent. Commiforia to Alaska and back the long way. Pedaling it yourself raises mental speed and reflexes, for what it's worth. Must know what's happening 360 degrees ALL the time. (mirrors!) Love the energy, options and vitality of a city but the inherent loss of freedom puts me rural, in few hrs reach of urban. Have sports cars to run in the hills/mountain roads, useless in the city most of the time.

Only Yamaha I had a ton of experience with 1982, 750 cc murdercycle, "fastest 1/4 mile time in '82", ran it hard daily for over dozen yrs. Little ever done to it. Loved that engine and was considered bullet proof. Great company, glad they are diversified bc H as a fuel is way uncompetitive, plus all the maintenance ICE inherently have that BEVs don't. Are you going to pay twice as much for H as gasoline when a BEV costs 4X LESS than gasoline to operate? Some will, not many. (love my older BMW M3, V8 today...don't want H or EV but think BEVs are in all of our futures like it or not)

Hopefully you inform yourself before next purchase, nothing even close to Tesla Model 3 is more affordable over first 5 yrs of ownership.

@islanddon865 Fit and finish were crap, not any longer. New standard range Model 3 is around $38k in USA, base model, and most will get at least $7.5k subsidy, more in some states. (S and X still have some build quality issues, not 3 or Y) If you can suffer the relatively misreble driving experience of a Prius, I couldn't. Bet your son will never go back to ICE including hybrid ICE. New version Model 3 plus yet to be available in US but only slightly more expensive in China and vastly superior to original, essentially all the customer gripes of original version improved significantly, ride, noise, even better seats and sound system, higher quality interior..... Things are changing fast, if you are 2 yrs out of date you are WAY out of date.

@Engineersoldinterstingstuff Depreciation especially, ICE going to zero whilst BEVs will retain economic utility and value. Glad U mentioned it, I was trying to be brief.

@johngoard8272 Australia is really as undeveloped as you make it sound? No major Tesla network? In Europe charging is fast and easy, in N. America same applies if it's a Tesla or able to use Tesla network. Shame you have to pay 5X more to operate a car than a BEV owner. Most likely you too will be driving or riding in BEV before end of decade tho, you've just been completely hoodwinked by your own content selection bias.

@breimer87 Agree. But I've rarely raced. I just want to respect and ENJOY the drive. If that means sideways sometimes?.... yes of course it does. 'Beating' someone else I left behind in the 1980's (see what I did there? :D). Today have a sports car substitute for crotch rocket of my youth, don't much race it either.

This vid is BS, BEV sales continue on early S-curve adoption rate, it's only failing legacy auto painting the false picture because they can't offer compelling EVs at competitive price even while losing a ton on each sale.
