  1. Sparks weather is perfect in the summer, high desert means minimal humidity, 95 there is preferable to 80 in Austin. Winter it gets colder than you'd like tho plus modest snow much of the season. And it's far more beautiful than most places in the USA, the Sierras are right there with lake Tahoe only 45 minutes.

  2. A photo of the city itself is misleading, the setting is not quite spectacular but it sure is compared to anywhere in Kansas or TX.

  3.  @FutureAzA  I believe it's not respected as an urban environment, as a dynamic city with the sort of culture that most want. Perhaps too small and not youthful or varied enough. Frankly the casino biz and the sort ppl and activities that draws is NOT attractive. To me casinos represent the most unhappy, unhealthy, unimaginative and unsuccessful folks. There is more to the area than that but a defining characteristic. If you like outdoor activities there is a lot to offer from skiing, dirt and mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and high desert has a lot to offer, it looks stark from a distance, even from the road but most of it is beautiful to be immersed in.
