@hordage The indispensable, defining characteristic of Marxism is sacrificing the individual for 'the greater good', unfortunately we are ALL individuals to be sacrificed. Of course that necessity isn't spelled out in the papers of the proponents but it sure as hell is the obvious unavoidable consequence.

Great analogy but being government there is no monetary discipline so no one even bothers to oil the machine, it's even less efficient than we tend to imagine.

It's always a matter of degree in real life, but when we've eliminated individual property and economic human rights (every bit as important as freedom of expression) the predictable result is equality as in universal poverty and starvation at some point. China under Mao, USSR under Stalin.... Before economic freedom was re-introduced to China several decades ago, China was synonymous with perpetual mass starvation Marxism is defined by mass slaughter of the individual 'for their own good'.

@fliteshare What's really sad is such toxic bullshit narratives like yours aren't instantly smacked down. Shocking to me that you could be this detached from successful ppl. I know endless examples of starting from nothing and achieving from modest wealth (me) to multi-ten millions as for many of my customers, friends and associates. I started as a laborer in an underground mine-mill at 17, got certified in welding, started welding contracting biz at 20, broke and green as hell, no TV, sound system nor toys...just a worn out econobox and an old 1-ton Chevy I had to rebuild.....nothing to be proud of, just the minimum requirement of being a MAN, like integrity, honesty, self reliance... ....well--I could prattle on endlessly how to be successful and it wouldn't matter, you are more concerned about avoiding personal responsibility and the necessity of effort than pursuit of happiness and achievement. It's the only explanation for your gross self deception which will, naturally, become your result. You choose your own own life limits.

Because you are doing it wrong, 10 yrs is enough to achieve financial independence. It starts with living WELL below your means and investing, not easy and won't solve all your problems but millions of ordinary folks choose to become "everyday millionaires".

@misterchrissy You don't sound exceptionally stupid, are you physically handicapped? Are you stuck in N. Korea? What else do I need to know? My ascertions only apply to the vast majority of Americans The diff between poverty and prosperity is first and foremost a state of mind. Like any life accomplishment--1st envision it then let nothing get in the way of achieving it. Good luck whatever you decide to be.

Nothing was ever equal or fair, we can only strive to be equal under the law Still some things are universally true, surround yourself with successful folks (not necessarily wealthy but whatever form of success they pursue, family, sports, global travel...) and you'll begin to see commonalities just as you see common qualities among the misreble whiners. My well wishes are heartfelt--success in others is a beautiful thing to see in society and tends to breed more of the same.

We already have the power to limit their terms. The biggest problem is campaign finance and legalized graft, money politics, revolving door, and a generally dim population I hate to add.
