@simoc24 Indeed....I'm frankly surprised and impressed.

Cool that they have an equal shot at it NOT cool if it's a requirement for such positions.

@4literv6 What I need isn't about to happen, it's a big market segment but not comparable to a pickups. A replacement for traditional 1-ton service chassis that accommodates existing beds. I have excessively expensive specialized custom bed fitting traditional frame dimensions. (440V 3-phase power would be a huge plus too)

@4literv6 That sounds about right. Likely beyond my retirement unfortunately. "Retire" seems like a slow death, lol, not fond of the concept but....

Stealerships can only hope to mark them up excessively, that model won't work for long. Isn't F going with the online method with it's EVs?

@4literv6 I wouldn't know but input from common small contractors could have driven that frunk. As one who has only had 1-ton service trucks for business, that frunk would be a serous attribute for flex storage, stuff you don't carry constantly as that's fixed on the rear, but extras specific to a given job. Rivian isn't catering to work/utilitarian but recreation instead. Plenty of demand from both uses case specialties.

@4literv6 Good points on low loading of frunk, and that's a big deal for a woman with groceries or a man with something like a portable table saw....no ledge (lip? IDK what to call it) to fight over is also important for bigger heavier items, not so much for grocery bags. To be able to just slide things in and out, no lifting required until clearing the frunk deck, reaching and lifting at same time is problematic. Sort of like a small bed without the tailgate.
