@HoofHearted801 You may have heard of the stock market? It was created for such purposes and can carry a money losing company for as long as shareholders choose to fund it.

@thedualtransition6070 Tesla didn't lobby for that largess, GM did. Yr or two ago Elon was asked about similar: "'Couldn't you use $1B for battery factory or something.'" (concerning more recent proposals) Elon: "Don't need it, delete DELETE." Tesla also turned down similar EU monies for Berlin plant. But when subsidies are across the board, no matter what industry, you pretty much have to take them to be competitive whether like 'em or not. Only thing good about recent excessive subsidies is breaking dependence on China, they aren't needed, the BEV train has left the station and won't be stopped.

Not for every big biz but those with a history of bribing politicians. Hopefully by the time GM and F are going under they will be diminished enough already to be let go.
