German solar potential is similar to Alaska, NOT the first place you want to use solar PV. Texas and California have twice the potential.

@lapin46 Thanks....interesting numbers, I assume the German/Cali numbers are max output potential? If so Cali probably produces a little more than Germany.

@lapin46 IC. I figured the biggest diff would be from overcast. Drove rental car around much of Portugal and some of Spain is all I've experienced of Euro. Excellent memories. I appreciate Santa Barbra but like to live well North of Sac/Bay Area, can't very well do the high population density of South 3/4s. Freedom diminishes with density. We have seasons, higher highs but only rare frost. Also about the best natural landscape options anywhere from redwood coast to high Sierras, high desert. Alone in a giant redwood grove is more spiritual than a cathedral...others around sort of spoils that too.
