When you purge and disallow all dissenting opinions (Putin, CCP....American Democrats, HA!) then you become isolated from the reality of your country, no one has the stones to tell Xi, zero-Covid22 is a predictable nightmare for nothing. There were even public protests, something that can officially disappear you in China.
