  1. Lead acid batts do not catch fire, they can explode mildly, small amount of hydrogen volume, but that's different. (I've blown up 2 over the decades, one from drop of molten steel falling on top, another not tied down and bouncing around off road and arcing on hood, just lifts the lid on batt, no BFD) Sam's explanation makes little sense here.
