The Left creates entire fantasies and runs wild with them for yrs without consequence: Russian collusion farce, Jan 6 fabrication while laughing when the Left attacks the WH in an insurrection, President forced to retreat to bunker (funny stuff!), burning up the guard house, knocking over a long fence injuring many cops, on and on. ZERO conseqences. Just last week a front running REPUBLICAN governor was SWATTED (really after 1.5yrs) his residence raided by the FBI which is in collusion and the DOJ...his crimes? Misdemeanors like trespassing. Left is creating civil war. What were a few yrs ago Alex Jones nutjob conspiracies are today's reality--forced injections, vaccine passports, complete loss of all civil rights, Right protestors getting solitary confinement without charges. The Ministry of Truth attempt, it's frankly terrifying. Not confident we will have a USA in any meaningful sense, what part of The Constitution is left? (Right was most to blame for Patriot act which was one big step in wrong direction 20 yrs ago) We need a radical shift toward Libertarianism or dissolution of this disunited states if the authoritarian Left doesn't grow up and get real.

@lengould9262 Ultimately it's a product of rabid propaganda, mostly from the Left but BOTH SIDES, and the silo-ing of opinions instead of welcoming debate. Remember when the Left believed in free speech and "let the market of ideas" sort out the best?...Darwinian process. Today the Left simply shouts down any slightly apposing ideas. I remember when one of the most prominent hippy slogans was "Question Authority", today the Left attacks anyone who does so. This is why having a Twitter that welcomes everyone from all sides, with very few limits, open and transparent, is crucial. NOT GOOD when Twits are all radical Leftists and newer competing platforms are all Right wing.

@FlorestanTrement He said they will take to court even if they are likely to lose, IF they are right. That doesn't mean he has to personally spend more than 5 min per week on it. Surely you notice how he can delegate, he need not use his own hands to install wiring harness to a car on assembly line, nor be in court. He's assembling a crack offensive legal team and they should strike fear into all big media recklessly stating rumors, claims, hearsay and speculation as FACTS with previous impunity. I have engineering background, not litigation expert, but my understanding is slander CAN BE seriously addressed by courts with considerable consequences.

@FlorestanTrement Absolutely NO good reason Elon would be required to present himself in court in most of these situations. I agree it's a massive waste of his precious time and so does he, he'll pay aggressive exceptionally talented expert "street fighter" lawyers for that. Let them do their thing with high rewards for success. Look forward to some publications to be thrashed and bankrupted, but that's just my wishful thinking. No fan of litigation but it's an essential element of a functioning society and accountability.

@FlorestanTrement For the most part the US justice system works well and isn't corrupted like every other government agency seems to be to one degree or another. As for slander I'm less confident as it seems rarely tested, media establishment gets away with murder continuously. Primary recourse is to just boycott them which has been happening as ppl realize they are purveyors of BS.

@FlorestanTrement Around 2014 there was a NYT (New York Crimes) fabricated story on the Model S running out of charge prematurely. Tesla had the data and called them out on it getting a retraction, maybe one or two others like that, not very satisfying. I want to see existential monetary damages inflicted on fake news outlets. Tesla aside--CNN, MSNBC are pure propaganda machines and should be obliterated for their continuous crimes.

@FlorestanTrement That was a another one but I thought a mistake for Tesla to sue as it's a comedy show as court determined. NYT is supposed to be real news and Tesla properly pursued that getting a retraction I believe, better than nothing but unsatisfying, and maybe someone canned from NYT.
