What do you care about what the government knows or does in this regard? Train has left the station, the market has preselected BEV future, it's over.

@Eternamusic425 It's not free anywhere. Drive cheap old ICE for few more yrs, by then very good 2nd hand BEVs will be available and most economic ever if you drive more than say--8k per yr. No major transition happens overnight. Depreciation is number one cost of a new car, never buy new until financially flush w everything else taken care of.

@Eternamusic425 Tangent--if you can't pay twice for it in CASH you can't afford it. I've never made a solitary monthly car payment in 45 yrs of auto and motorcycle driving. (exception for one essential business truck I paid off early, not a discressionary item)
