Yeah except they can't mass produce what they already have nor profit on them. It's not a matter of desirability it's lack of capability.

@rickhammond2473 A lot of that depends on how many miles you average per yr. One extreme--Uber drivers find that their savings on fuel alone makes the car payment on a Tesla. On the other hand if you only drive a few thousand miles per yr you can be content in that '94 Civic indefinitely...or until you get T-boned by and F-150 and squashed.
