  1. Coal has been dying rapidly in the USA due to fracking tech and resulting cheap NatGas, for over a decade. Gas is far better and a bridge to sustainability.

  2. USA even used petrol for grid power until the Saudi embargo in 1973, hard to believe today as that practice was rapidly terminated (Hawaii the exception) cars, homes, businesses and industry all became vastly more efficient over the yrs since.
