Crumple zone speculations: CT will have weakened "seams" (creases/brake lines) where appropriate such that severe impact allows separation between individual sheets of semi-flat SS, which will allow crushing, with increased seem strength toward center of vehicle, just the fore/aft last few feet progressively weakened at seams. A steel box of that thickness is way too rigid, but allowing it to become "not a box" will allow folding at reasonable impacts becoming progressively more resistant the further the intrusion.

  2. Munro on further consideration realized that 'one casting' is NOT, not in that mockup anyway. It's 5 pcs "welded" together. (I'm guessing printed parts glued or whatever)
