We (US) can be energy independent much easier than most. Germany made big mistake eliminating nuke electric, hope they reverse course on that. US could also supply much LNG to Germany if not for destructive climate hysteria. Gas is a bridge to renewables and has allowed the USA to meet or beat the climate agreements by replacing coal, almost no other nation has...despite also neglecting nukes. BIG respect for Germany for this moment regardless.
