It has nothing to do with that, he could have bought the New York Times or whatever....this is about avoiding silo-ing of political views and allowing all sides to speak freely without being banned for their beliefs, or even just a joke THEY don't like. It's a democratic imperative that Twitter had destroyed and it punches above it's weight as it's quoted everywhere else
