Tesla Model Y was the best selling car on Earth of ANY drive train type in 2023, it will be again this yr. Political BS aside, BEVs are the very near future. Ppl don't want legacy auto BEVs and for good reason.

Good BEVs still get around 100 MPGe, ICE will never remotely compete with it. The ICE age is over, this vid and threads are hilarious self delusion. Ppl don't want BEVs, they want Teslas.

@wabash1581 Too much Authoritarianism, but that's what Democrats do. Incentives might be justified based on air quality and to balance fossil fuel subsidies but there's a big downside and economics and consumer choice alone will drive rapid adoption of BEVs. Mandates just suck.

@heyaisdabomb Many BEV owners haven't been to a charging station in yrs, depends if you road trip a lot or not, if you do, and own a Tesla, it's trivial and vastly cheaper than petrol.

BEVs continue to gain market share, legacy auto has 2 to 3 yr lot rot, massive inventories killing dealers, but HEY, Biden continues to prop up failing legacy auto, wasting billions to buy union votes. Tesla sells everything it makes as fast as it can deliver them.

Called what...the demise of BEVs? It's a false narrative overall, it's just that legacy MFGs are too slow, inept, indebt and behind the curve to catch up with the new technologies. Their days of dominance are numbered, they'll milk the ICE market as it diminishes and become obsolete with the old paradigms. Tad sad but at least they'll probably take union mafias down with them.

@sdlausen1 Have you bothered to look at the actual numbers? Sales growth continues virtually everywhere, including the USA. At this rate US BEV sales will be around 80% of new car sales by 2030, simply based on economics and customer choice, retarded mandates are nothing but Pol virtue signaling, irrelevant. As are BS clickbait vids like this one.

@maddhatter3564 Yeah Pols forcing it earns the backlash, it's entirely unnecessary and they can't mandate that which industry hasn't already made economical. Teslas are simply superior vehicles for vast majority of use cases, econobox BEVs are next. Trump will probably win and eliminate that nonsense. Plus the Big Three who lobbied for subsidies found out they can't produce competitive compelling BEVs and are changing their tune. The market will be dominated by Chinese brands and Tesla while legacy auto diminishes and fails completely in most cases. They dug their own grave. (I know most don't believe all that but you'll see)

@mrmrsmarshall9110 You can buy among the very best vehicles ever made for near the price of a Camry, Tesla 3 and Y and they cost 1/4 as much to maintain and operate. You should test one for free, then you'll begin to see.

@professorlib Tens of millions of yrs, thousands are like minutes in geologic time. Still we have enough fossils to last centuries, significantly cleaner air and quieter streets with vastly lower cost of travel are the primary benefits of BEVs. Lower cost travel will tend to mean more traffic however. Poor will benefit the most.

There will be liquid fuel, just very expensive and hard to find in 30 yrs. Severe range anxiety for road trips. I welcome antiques and choice, go for it.

Most ppl charge at home and can't imagine going back to the inconvenience of gas stations to pay $50 or $100 instead of $8 or $15 of electricity. Insurance may be higher in the short term but unless you crash a lot there ARE NO REPAIRS or maintenance to do, that's the realm of ICE cars. Charging for road trips in a Tesla can add marginally to trip time if you are one to never need to stop in 1000 miles, to pee, eat, stretch legs. But 30 minutes from 20% to 80% when you just plug in and walk away ain't a BFD. $35 to $40k for one of the best cars ever is too much for you? Then just wait a couple yrs for used market options.

@SheLeftMeUnsupervised Tires, cabin filter, washer fluid, wiper blades, that's all a Tesla needs. Brakes essentially never wear out because regenerative braking is used exclusively w few exceptions--emergencies, on a track (doesn't apply to you or most others) or if batt is briefly at 100% already. As a typical utilitarian car user, YOU will be in a BEV before you know it, few yrs. Apartments will provide chargers or become obsolete, it's not expensive or difficult. Tesla tells you exactly where chargers are and everything you want to know about them and they always work. You just plug in and walk away, no card no other transaction required. Frugal and poor ppl will have plenty of options but only one drive train type to chose from--BEV. They are 3 to 4X less to operate. Poor will be the biggest beneficiaries of this revolution. I still prefer my 'old' BMWs, I can afford them, I wouldn't recommend to others nor will I ever spend much on an ICE for a daily driver again, just don't make sense.

@RequiemWraith Sure and I fully appreciate econoboxes, drove them for decades so now I don't have to. I'll never suffer front drive death traps like that again unless desperate. LOATH front wheel drive, but I guess at 35 hp it's hard to tell which wheels are driven. :D)
