  4.  @fefferryerr1818  Other than some lose bits it should be in one piece if it's made of typical malleable structural alloy. So either imploded which would be interesting to look at or a leak that filled it and equalized pressure in and out and likely looks essentially the same.

  8. Mark Winton makes good sense--but WHY the hell would he choose to drive one of the absolute worst cars ever made?...that Nitro is pure crap...dents his street cred frankly. If you have a throw away Dodge...by all means skimp on oil. For me oil changes are cheap and quick, oil filters don't collect finer contaminants and if it LOOKS dirty it's coming out. One of my engines costs $20,000 on the bench, I take care of it.

  9. Tony M That might be OK but I sure wouldn't push it on an expensive vehicle especially if you intend to keep it long term. One reason I do it more often is because I believe BMW (and others) like to maximize maintenance intervals on their cars as a selling point, even at the cost of shortening the engine life as it "will last long enough anyway". My 2011 M3 has 9 liters oil cap in part to extend interval, but it's a high strung, $20,000 motor, I won't let it look dirty or stay in there over 6 months/4k to 5k miles, even at some $200 for oil change supplies alone. Spending twice as much on oil as I need to is cheap peace of mind. Doing it myself keeps me in touch with the condition of crucial components, oil leaks, etc. Frequent oil change means better maintenance in all areas as I wind up checking all the fluids, filters, and so on.

  12.  @AndyUK-Corrival  Thanks. Was gathering that by now. The apparent lackadaisical nature of the builders/operators of this rig be enough to steer ME clear. Similar to a suborbital rocket like Virgin Galactic in terms of inherent danger, rigorous engineering, quality control and testing required. I didn't see any of that going into this mission, but only seen a tiny glimpse...more my intuition. Test the damn thing without humans on board a couple X?? Just go to that depth or a little deeper unmanned first.
