Worked with high salary guy with sketchy in-laws, he once "loaned" them similar amount as he knew it would be the last time he'd ever have to hear from them, they wouldn't call knowing they owed him money. "That was cheep!" he said with all seriousness. Clever strategy if it works.

@think2invest He was well aware of all that. It's also possible that the nut doesn't fall far from the tree but manages to distance itself, excel and escape a dismal family history.

@andyng5321 What if you never want to hear from them at all for any reason but also don't want to start a fight w inlaws? Could be a good option.

@andyng5321 It's annoyingly presumptuous for anyone to even think you have money to loan, my strategy is more like: "I was just going to ask YOU for a loan."

@andyng5321 Phones are not the only mode of communication, some of us interact in real life. I know it sounds weird to some but we don't all hide out in a basement.
