@mattlane2282 WTH?? Solar is being installed all over the place, that's been worked out decades ago. Add batteries and you can go off grid if you invest enough in the system, it may not pencil out just yet but it's getting closer every year.

@tiramisu8359 They are already too late, the EV revolution is unstoppable now. Reality ain't "Dallas" the silly TV show. Auto and oil industries are invested in alternatives too and they don't go around shooting people, that's a childish fantasy.

@MarkH10 Yeah it's called "Elon time", and as a new TSLA small stock holder it makes me nervous. He has consistently been WAY behind 'scheduled' on everything. "I do have a problem with punctuality" he joked once. On the other hand--Tesla cars have exceeded performance claims in some ways. Eventually these tiles will likely be viable but I wouldn't hold my breath as much as I love the idea.

@mattlane2282 Yet folks are DOING IT all across the land. So you are obviously missing something. In fact, Cali (unfortunately with it's excessive heavy hand of regulation) have mandated solar for new homes. Have you not noticed it everywhere? Yes the grid is typically used as a 'battery'.
