Salsabilla It's ALL about the economics, if Elon's estimates are accurate (remains to be seen) then it will sell far faster than they can build them until competitive options arrive. Cummins stock took a hit--that means some smart money is betting for Tesla. If YOU know better--short TSLA. This is the beginning of the end of diesel trucks. I bet you'd have said something similar about e-sports cars a decade ago. The Saudi's are expecting petroleum to have zero marginal value in 20 yr.s. With a few exceptions such as airliners and heavy equipment, combustion vehicles days are numbered.

Aegis Kay What if, as claimed, a trucker can charge another 400 miles during a 30 minute break? Why would even long haulers have a prob with that? And one need not take the time to manually pump fuel for 20 min, plug in and go have lunch.

CONTRA Wages will likely rise but the number of drivers will decrease over time, that's a good thing as it's a boring job that's hard to fill these days.

CONTRA How do you know that? It's not what has happened in other instances of mechanization. Sure eventually there will be NO ONE behind the wheel but the person monitoring a dozen trucks will make more than a trucker today. A century ago or so half of us were farmers, now it's less than 2% and farmers and workers are making far more than they did way back when.
