  1. I believe Panspermia is a given for the solar system and possibly microbes are shotgunned across the galaxy in a viable form. If so the stage for bio-genesis could be 1 to 9 orders of magnitude larger than Earth. I fully expect we are going to find basic life on more than one body in our own solar system, Mars, and a few moons of Jupiter and Saturn to the top of the list. We KNOW Earth life can lay dormant for tens of thousands of years at least, some can take amazing doses of radiation and many meteorites, and presumably impact ejecta, do not get cooked enough to sterilize them completely--that to me spells Panspermia. (as a laymen, I hope I spelled it right :D )
