It's more logical that the nuclear annihilation of the 2nd city Nagasaki and threats to continue played more than the Soviets ending neutrality. BESIDES they all issued the declaration for "surrender or face prompt and utter destruction " not just the soviets

  4.  @WalkOverHotCoal  the older I get the more I THINK the blame is almost equal. I once would've put the entire blame on the leaders but its a soldiers duty to refuse illegal orders and not just blindly obey. To many useless pointless wars that we just blindly support. Yes the politicians say the soldiers must do this but they still have a choice correct. He said " I knew what I was getting into" so you want me to cry because he USA lost? There is no win lol . Like how can we win when you create more enemies than you destroy daily
