Protects its citizens and provides basic essentials to live and prosper. If you run a country like a business you prioritize economic growth at the expense of everything else. If growth is all that matters what good are the lower class, the elderly, the disabled, etc? All that would matter is what creates wealth . If 80% of the country controls 7% of the wealth what good is the 80%? They are draining income because they cost more than bring in. So you cut funding to 80% to prioritize growth. You are the 80% , you’re not the shareholder
