  5. No Molly you don't let him drive away. Police have a court order to arrest the suspect, not allow him to drive away and then get the Marshalls to do your job. An officer is justified in using lethal force when they perceive a threat. This would be akin to a person pointing a weapon at you. You don't wait for the bullet to be fired, there is a perceived threat and deadly force is authorized.

  18. From what I have heard, two weeks prior to the killing, the sheriff's wife left him due to DV. The mother and daughter were trying to get away from the sheriff and the judge was helping him. This is why the sheriff's statement after the shooting that they're trying to kidnap my wife and daughter makes sense.

  42. The crux of the case lies whether or not the body was staged. I think the ME's testimony will either sink this case or convict Matt. Is a USB cable able to hold a 100 pound person? Was the bruising on her neck consistent with a suicide or manual strangulation.

  48. I believe there were mitigating factors such as her father being an alcoholic and she threw the lye at him in a fit of rage because he was drunk and couldn't take her to her hair appointment. She didn't mean to kill him, if she understood that throwing the lye would result in both of his legs being amputated and eventually end in death, she wouldn't have thrown it. It was never her intention to kill him. I think we need to balance justice with compassion in cases such as this.

  50. He should never have been charged to begin with. The law now protects the criminals and punishes the police. Daniel was nothing but a common criminal who stole a car and ran away from police with gun in hand. He then turned towards the officer and the officer had justification to use deadly force.
