  1. Yes because the jury needs to know he was a thug. The three men did not chase him because of the color of his skin but because they thought he was a thief. They tried to detain him but once Ahmaud went for the gun, this became a case of manslaughter. Remember the three men were acting on an antiquated law that allows civilians to detain suspects until LE arrives.
